Million Dollar+ treasure chest hidden in the Rocky Mountains for 10 years has been found!

I dreamed of finding this buried treasure back 10 years ago when famed art and antiquities collector Forrest Fenn announced that he had hidden a multi-million dollar treasure chest somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. He inspired tens of thousands to set out in search of his treasure!

According to Fenn, the chest weighs about 40 pounds—the treasure is made up of 22 pounds of exquisite ancient jewelry, gold nuggets, jade and other precious gem stones, Pre Columbian figures, ancient coins, rare artifacts, and much more.

Fenn shared clues to its whereabouts on his website and in a poem he published in his autobiography, “The Thrill of the Chase.” ...

"If gold and gems are what you seek, we have a quest for you:

Off well-worn trails in Rocky mounts, a chest awaits one true

Of heart and mind, both resolute, in purpose and in goal,

Who knows no gold outshines the hues that Sparkle in one’s soul."

So hear me all and listen good,

Your effort will be worth the cold.

If you are brave and in the wood

I give you title to the gold."

–Forrest Fenn

Fenn originally designed the treasure hunt as a means of leaving behind a legacy: In 1989, he was diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer, but thank God he managed to recover. He claimed he set up the hunt to inspire people to explore nature by giving them a "good old-fashioned adventure."

Since then, as many as 350,000 people have searched for the hidden treasure over several states—a quest that some people quit their jobs to pursue while other less fortunate died in the search. For years, people speculated the treasure existed at all. However, on June 2nd, 2020, the hunt was finally over! The treasure was found!

The man who reportedly found the treasure wishes to remain anonymous but has sent confirmation of his discovery to Fenn with a photograph of the chest.

"It was under a canopy of stars in the lush, forested vegetation of the Rocky Mountains and had not moved from the spot where I hid it more than ten years ago," Fenn wrote on his website. "I do not know the person who found it, but the poem in my book led him to the precise spot."

My congratulations goes out to the lucky person who finally found the chest and proved once and for all that the legendary treasure of Forrest Fenn was real! 🤑

What do you think about all this hidden treasure business? Also has anyone gone real treasure hunting or metal detecting, perhaps excavating or digging? I would love to hear about it and possibly join in on the fun 😀
